Carlson Real Estate Secures Landmark Lease at The Oaks Business Park March 14, 2008—Minneapolis, MN—Carlson Real Estate has experienced a number of employee moves in the first quarter of 2008 in all three of its markets; Minneapolis/St. Paul, Phoenix, and Charlotte.
At the company’s Minnetonka, Minnesota headquarters office, Debra Altschuler was hired as Senior Counsel, Kristin Myhre was promoted to Senior Manager, Real Estate Investments, and Kim Hofstede, Real Estate Manager, was appointed to the NAIOP National Young Professionals I Forum.
Ms. Altschuler brings more than 10 years of practical experience in real estate law to Carlson Real Estate Company. Prior to joining Carlson in January 2008, she worked as an Associate for a number of high profile firms including Day, Berry, & Howard, in Stamford, Connecticut and Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson; Baer, Marks & Upham, LLC; and Borah, Goldstein, Altschuler, Schwartz, & Nahins, P.C., all in New York City. In addition, Ms. Altschuler is a published author and former faculty member at The Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
Ms. Myhre has been with Carlson Real Estate for five years, and throughout that time has taken on a wide variety of high-level responsibilities, including property management, construction, property sales, and acquisitions. In 2007 she played a key role in the acquisition of Cotton Center IV from Opus Corporation in Phoenix, Arizona. Ms. Myhre previously held the title of Real Estate Manager.
Ms. Hofstede has been appointed to the NAIOP Young Professionals I Forum for a three-year term. This forum helps to promote the careers of developing leaders in commercial real estate under the age of 35 throughout the United States.
In its Phoenix, Arizona office, Chris Cannon was promoted to General Manager and Erik Warshauer was hired as a Real Estate Associate.
Mr. Cannon has been with Carlson Real Estate since 2001 and has been instrumental in helping to develop, manage and lease the entire Phoenix portfolio. He also played a key role in developing the engineering and tenant service programs, and was an invaluable resource in the complex refinancing of Cotton Corporate Center and the acquisition of Cotton Center IV. Mr. Cannon previously held the title of Senior Property Manager.
Having first joined Carlson Real Estate as an intern in May 2007, Mr. Warshauer became a permanent, full-time employee in January 2008. His main duties revolve around financial analysis and due diligence on future acquisition and development opportunities. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
In Charlotte, North Carolina, Michelle Kirby was promoted to Assistant Property Manager. Ms. Kirby, who previously held the title of Real Estate Services Coordinator, has been a key contributor to the creation and continued development of Carlson Real Estate’s office in Charlotte since its opening in early 2007. She has been instrumental in coordinating the daily operations of the office, and has been highly successful at building strong relationships with, and providing first-class service to Carlson’s Charlotte-area tenants. This move will further expand Ms. Kirby’s role within the organization, most notably as it pertains to management and tenant relations throughout the entire portfolio of properties.
